• Meeting with the Coordinator-PASUNE of the Steering Committee, Paralegal Support Network.
Objective/Results/Remarks
• Learnt about the logistics of starting a community radio station in Transmara District
• EcoNews Africa is involved with a Community Radio Station in Tanzania that caters for Maa speakers in the area. REMADO would benefit greatly from a study visit/tour to the station and requested for support for a trip to understand its programming, meet some of the radio listening groups or the community it serves and appreciate their sustainability plan.
• Have a contractual agreement between Econews and REMADO for fundraising. Community awareness through community education by selecting & training of members of different groups.
• Forwarding a revised project proposal for the Global Fund Fifth Round Funding.
• As per request presented to the Steering Committee of PASUNE at its meeting of the 31 July 2006 the committee resolved in principle to provisionally approve the affiliation as the application is being processed to make the provisional membership final. |
